Witmer Associates, Inc. is the company behind TheFireStore.com. Witmer Associates is a family owned and operated company that has been serving the fire equipment and supply industry since 1996. Today the company headquarters, including a large showroom and national distribution center is located in Coatesville, Pennsylvania – about an hour northwest of Philadelphia.

The company’s initial entry into the fire equipment and supply industry came through Gearmasters – a line of specialized fire station turnout gear racks and lockers which Witmer Associates designed and manufactured. With a growing sense of the needs of the fire fighting community, the company launched HelmetPartsSource.com to supply replacement parts for Cairns, Bullard, Morning Pride and Phenix firefighting helmets. New products were being added to the web site on a weekly basis.

As Witmer Associates expanded their product offerings beyond helmet parts a change in the website name became necessary – in 1997 TheFireStore.com was born. Today TheFireStore.com represents many of the industry’s largest and most recognized manufacturers.

Customer Service is the highest priority for Witmer Associates. As a result of keeping the customer at the top of our priority list, ordering and distribution improvements are continually taking place. Past improvements included a fresh look to the website, an integrated sale and accounting system as well as the implementation of a sophisticated barcode/scanner system that increases the accuracy and processing time for each order.

In January of 2001 Witmer Associates moved from an office building in Guthriesville, PA to a 5,000 square foot retail location in Downingtown, PA.

In January of 2003 Witmer Associates introduced a new and improved TheFireStore.com. The new website provided much easier navigation and integration with the accounting system used by the company. With this integration, new products can be added rapidly, allowing customers to order the newest products faster than ever.

In March of 2004 Witmer Associates established an Outside Sales & Service Department that serves the tri-state area of Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Within a six county region of Southeastern PA this department sells and services MSA SCBAs, Thermal Imaging Cameras, Gas Detection Meters and much more.

In May of 2004 Witmer Associates introduced OfficerStore.com – a website focusing on the needs of the law enforcement community. This website, like TheFireStore.com, is growing rapidly with new products being added daily.

In October of 2005 Witmer Associates moved its operation 6 miles west - from Downingtown, PA to a new 35,000 square foot facility in Coatesville, PA.
