For both work at height and rescue,
access from above is preferred because it allows one to take advantage of the force of gravity. Descenders are designed to regulate friction and control descent on a fixed rope. They also allow one to be positioned at certain points on the rope to perform work operations.
- Variable friction descender with braking bar.
- Allows the friction to be adjusted during the descent, according to the weight of the rope: the lower bar is removable and easy to put in place.
- Distributes friction and heat to help preserve the rope.
- Does not twist the rope.
- For use on a single ropes (9 to 13 mm) or double ropes (8 to 11 mm)
