  • Q:

    We are in a rental home with a window that slides inward 1/4 of the width of the sill when opening, such that attaching a conventional fire escape ladder is a bit difficult. How does this ladder work with attach points and mechanisms, that could be used on the sill or even further inside the room of the house? My husband or I could probably jump, but we have a 4 year old child that we would need to get out of the house in event of a fire, and are looking for solutions to work with these narrow windows.

      A:

      Joanna,we don't think this is the one you should be looking at. We think you would be better served if you were to look at these 2 vendors;
      Kidde, P/N Log-468093 2 story escape ladder or P/N Log468094 a three story model
      Bold Industries; P/N RQL-4FL 35 foot escape ladder or P/N RQL-5FL a 50 foot model
      all of these can be found on our web site, both will hook on to the window sill and you just throw out the window, and climb down
