Tempest gasoline powered blowers provide more horsepower than electric blowers. The increased air velocity, higher air volume, and higher air pressure provided by a gasoline blower results in faster ventilation. They require no generator or power cord lays which results in faster setup.
Tempest direct-drive blowers are designed to provide the best value for fire and industrial applications. The direct-drive design allows for a smaller package and a lighter weight unit. Vibration problems that are common to most direct-drive blowers have been virtually eliminated due to the use of higher quality, four cycle gas engines, more precisely balanced and engineered impellers and vibration absorbing, spring loaded rear "feet".
Engine Options Tempest offers four-cycle Honda, Tecumseh, and Briggs & Stratton engines that exceed EPA standards and are California Air Resource Board Approved (CARB). The Honda engine is by far the most requested engine due to its reputation for reliability and durability. Recently, the Tecumseh and Briggs engines have been converted to an overhead valve configuration that gives them reliability that rivals the Honda at a lower price.
All gasoline engines are equipped with side exhaust outlets to help keep most of the exhaust emissions out of the air stream. All engines are also adapted to accept optional Tempest Exhaust Hose that pipes exhaust fumes up to twenty feet away from the blower intake.
