Petzl: Tuba Aluminum Knot Passing Lowering Device
For both work at height and rescue, access from above is preferred
because it allows one to take advantage of the force of gravity. Descenders are
designed to regulate friction and control descent on a fixed rope. They also allow
one to be positioned at certain points on the rope to perform work operations.
- Friction brake for descent.
- Allows the lowering of load over long distances.
- Shape allows passage of knots.
- Friction is adjusted by increasing or decreasing the number
of turns of the ropes around the device.
