UK's Dual Intensity system lets you choose a piercing 40 lumens of light on high power, with a generous 4-5 hours of run-time on 4 standard AA Alkaline batteries, or 9-10 hours on longer-lasting lithium cells. Switch to low power at any time to get a very useful, and exceptionally long-lasting 13 lumens of light -- an ideal level for navigation, map reading, or general use -- for 25+ hours with alkaline batteries, or at least 40 hours on AA lithium cells.
The 2-watt LED lasts for thousands of hours and maintains constant brightness for over 80% of the battery life. Unlike conventional lights the solid state LED will not break when dropped. A twist of the bezel zooms the light between an intense narrow beam and a broad illuminating beam using the unique Projection Optics design.
