Goal
of The RIT BAG:
Get In, Get Them Air, Get Them Out- FAST!
The
RIT Bag allows you to accomplish the tasks that are vital in rescuing
a downed firefighter. The RIT BAG features all heavy duty materials,
construction, streamlined design, proven functionality and the original RAD System to put the Rapid in RIT.
FITS ALL BRANDS:

RAD
System—Rapid Air Deployment
Designed to hold both a quick
connect and an extra mask pre-connected to your air bottle. Be prepared
for all contingencies such as mask failure or incompatible masks.
Since the spare mask and quick valve are already attached, you save
precious time. To access these tools just press the quick release
buckle. The flap is lined with reflective tape and has an extra
long strap.
Drag Strap—for low-level entry and rescue
Some
conditions will force the rescuer to have to crawl on his/her knees.
The RIT BAG can be dragged across the ground easily without snagging
or tearing. The rescued firefighter has the option of dragging the bag next to him, while receiving
the new air. The large 2" strap is easy to see, easy to grab, and very
strong.
Visibility
Whether it's in a smoky room, or late
at night, the bright, distinctive yellow color of the RIT BAG is easily recognizable. High quality reflective tape in key areas make the
bag visible in any light.
Two
Tool Pockets
The RIT BAG has two pockets with large loops for easy opening. Each
pocket has two pouches that will allow you to carry up to four tools.
It is recommended that you carry at least one large cable cutter and
one pair of tin snips. Many departments will carry two sets of each
on one bag so no matter which side of the bag is next to you, you
will always know that the tools are there. Other departments have
one set of these tools and also include a flashlight and light sticks. |
 |
Seven loops for attaching accessories
On the backside are seven loops made from durable webbing that can
be used to attach strobes, rope bag and any other accessories you
prefer to carry. These loops will be out
of the way when the shoulder straps are in use. When using a standard
SCBA holder the tools will face out and be out of the way of the brackets.
 |
SCBA
and Quick Valve Pocket
This area of the bag contains both a quick connect and an extra mask.
Be prepared for all contingencies such as mask failure or incompatible
masks. Since that mask and quick valve are already attached you will
save precious time. To access these tools just press down the quick
release buckle and pull the flap down. The flap is lined with reflective
tape and has an extra long strap that you can pull when you release
the buckle. The sides of the pocket are lined with Velcro to prevent
the mask or connector from falling out of the sides. |
Streamline
Design
For efficient RIT team operations RIT BAG designed a slim bag. Large
RIT bags slow down the rescue. Size, weight and complexity impede
the speed of a rescue. This slim design allows a rescuer to carry
only the necessary equipment, but the bag can be used in tight
areas without getting hung up. The large pocket flaps cover up the
tools so they don't snag. The top of the bag securely ties down the
air bottle, forming a torpedo shape that helps keep the bag snag-free.
Kevlar
Aramid Strap
The last thing you want is the strap breaking when rescuing
a down firefighter
The large Kevlar Aramid shoulder strap will stand up against the high
temperature debris of a fire during rescue as you drag a victim
to safety. The two-inch width is easy to grab and see. Metal quick release buckles adjust to fit your RIT Team member
or victim. |
 |
 |
Quick Release Buckles
Similar
to traditional SCBA buckles, the quick release buckles used on the RIT bag are made from metal that is very
strong and heat resistant and is designed to be used with gloves on. When
speed is essential, the strap can be quickly wrapped around a firefighter's
chest and buckled, securing the bag around the firefighter...and letting you concentrate on finding the quickest way out. |
Adaptability
The RIT BAG has been designed to hold all makes and sizes of bottles.
