A:
i'm working on your e-mail question, I think we can help you with this but first we will need to ask you some questions, then we would like you e-mail me your answers and call me at our 800 number so I can speak directly to you and get a better understanding how we can proceed with this.
The following is what I received from my vendor;
We do have products that are used in the steel industry for molten metal splash protection.
The material that is used we call Interlock C6 (it’s naturally black in color).
We can do hoods in both 1 ply, and 2 ply.
2 ply giving them the most protection, but they will be warmer than a 1 ply.
As for his question, what is that temperature range for this hood.
There is no exact “temperature” or rating.
We have Interlock C6 independently tested for different markets – molten metal splash protection and electric arc protection. And in these 2 markets there is no such test for temperature. (But looking at the tests they do perform – there is no other material out there that even comes close) Because this is an industrial hood, with no requirements as to length, design – the design features are endless. Do you think they will buy based on price, or function?
The reason I ask is that we could offer them a short hood, both 1 ply and 2 ply. Which would be the most economical because of the shorter length. Or do you think they want something that will offer longer protection (similar to our PAC II design)??? Which we could offer in both 1 ply and 2 ply.
This is getting a little long in lenght, we have your e-mail address, I will be forwarding you some pricing and a picture of what the vendor is talking about. After you have reveiw both e-maols you can resapond back to me.
