I wear this hat as a everyday errand/after shift hat. I ordered it for the crew mates and it was well received by the crew and even some envy by the other shifts. I wouldn't say it was a half size smaller I would say it's snugger than the other flex fits out there, more like 1/4 size smaller.

Service and delivery comments:

Overall the turn around from The Fire Store was, in my mind appropriate for the holiday season when I ordered, see my procrastination. I called to get an update and the customer care was on top of finding out from the embroiderer when the hat's would be done and shipped and it was spot on.
