Certified to both NFPA 1977-2005 for wildland firefighting and to ASTM F2413-05 for footwear protection. The uniquely versatile and protective 9" Fire Hiker is made to meet all the needs of professional wildland firefighters. New water resistant and breathable HAIX Sun Reflect™ Leather upper reduces the heating effect of direct sunlight. The high-heat-resistant nonslip outsole provide superior footholds on steep and uneven terrain, and exceptional traction on wet and slippery surfaces. It's an innovative new design made for all-day comfort under some of the worst conditions imaginable. But when the time comes to kick back and relax, a wide lip on the rear heel becomes a built-in boot jack to make removal easy. You'll find it an ideal footwear companion for dual cert wildland station/duty pants.

Features:
	HAIX® Secura LinerTM: Waterproof and highly breathable, with 4 unique layers, including a highly abrasion resistant and comfortable Cambrelle inner lining which is softly padded with breathable foam. The entire lining is firmly secured and sealed beneath the sole, along with the leather upper. It is guaranteed not to pull out, or even wrinkle, over time.
	HAIX® Sun Reflect Leather: Reduces the heating effect of direct sunlight on the upper leather. Sunlight is reflected by the leather, rather than absorbed, keeping the boot and the feet cooler.
	HAIX® Climate System: Creates air circulation and cooling with every step - as moist air is expelled, and fresh air pulled in through special vent holes at the top of the boot.
	HAIX® MSL System: Stands for Micro Soft Light-an extremely lightweight foam injected into the sole to provide exceptional shock absorption and superior heat/ cold insulation. This durable system has been proven to last the lifetime of the boot
	Sole: Uniquely designed oil- and Uniquely designed oil- and fuel-resistant Nitrile rubber sole was developed especially for fire fighting. A stable non-slipping sole edge provides superior footholds on steep and uneven terrain. The self-cleaning honeycomb tread pattern and blue suction cups offer exceptional traction on slick and wet surfaces. Ladder bar treads in the joint area provide stability and arch-saving comfort on ladder rungs.
	•Protective toe cap: Non-heat transferring, non-metallic, composite toe cap meets ASTM F 2413-05 standard for personal protection - protective footwear.
	•Puncture & Heat Resistant: Non-heat transferring composite offers exceptional puncture resistance.
	•Composite Shank: Sturdy non-metallic shank protects against punctures, impact, and concentrated pressure from ladder rungs. Will not transfer heat from sole, in accordance with NFPA 1977 standards.
	•Heel Grip: Specially designed heel offers superior footholds on steep and uneven terrain.
	•Integrated Bootjack: New softly cushioned insole for long wearing comfort. Insoles are quick change, machine washable with excellent moisture absorption and quick drying qualities.
	•Insole: Specially designed heel offers superior footholds on steep and uneven terrain.
	•Footbed: Anatomically formed, Texon (fleece) that absorbs moisture and provides additional foot and ankle support.
	•Threads & Laces: All threads and laces are of flame retardant Nomex. All Haix boots come laced up.
	•All Leather Upper: Waterproof, hydrophobic, and breathable leather; 2.5-2.7 mm thick.

	•Extended Wear Program: Out of warranty footwear can be refurbished with original factory parts through a resole package. This package includes any necessary replacement or repair of stitching, profiled rubber toe caps, soles, and insoles. Footwear will be cleaned and deodorized.
