SuperFabric® Brand Materials in the new Spider Urban were specially selected to protect the uppers from abrasion damage caused by fast-roping, rappelling, climbing, crawling, driving, or other high-stress activities. This extraordinarily durable fabric is laced with ceramic, making it highly resistant to cuts, punctures, heat, and abrasion—yet is extremely flexible. The protective TPU exo-frame construction also includes a hard composite piece at the instep that’s correctly curved to wrap around the rope for maximum control while it resists melting or other damage. And it blends neatly into the Spider Outsole’s special rope-grip arch, with its 90-degree lateral edge and linear ridges underneath. It all comes together for maximum control and reliable braking to slow your decent. With flexible rappelling toe fins that stick silently to walls, aggressive tread, and reinforced stabilizers, this unique rubber outsole not only makes short work of long ropes, it delivers tactical traction, excellent stability, and superior shock absorption on the ground.
