Retired Firefighter

by

We gave a Natural ""64"" to one of our own FF the decided to hang up his hat after 47 years of service and he racked up over 23,000 fire calls in his career. It was a beautiful helmet, to bad they don't make it for real structural FF...

Q&A's:

"what is the sizing on the helmet?"

Carins/MSA doesn't list a size for this helmet

"Is there a install kit to attach the leather shield to this?"

No kit, the front goes under the top cutout on the brass holder, then you need to take a couple of the brass pins, insert them into the front, then through the holes in your helmet, this puts them against the front and you split them apart inside the helmet to hold the front against the helmet. If you need the pins you can find them on our web site, under helmet, then look under Cairns helmet parts, p/n is FP, when you see the picture on the web site you will see what i'm talking about when I said you split the pins.

"What are the dimensions of the shield on the front?"

They use a 6"" shield, if you go to our web page you can scroll down to the bottom you will see "" 6"" Leather Fronts are sold separately "" . You will also need to purchase the brass pins so you can attach the front to the helmet.

"Can this helmet be fitted with the 3D eagle instead of the standard maltese cross top brass?"

Dan from all appearances it looks like it will work, but you might have to drill new holes if this doesn't line up to the old holes. I would check real close to see how it will match up up before doing anything.

"What suzette 64 comb come in"

Nick are you asking about size? This is a 1 size fits all, there are no difference between large or medium, it's not meant to be worn. They do not offer this in different sizes.

"Does this helmet come with an inside liner?"

Bill by inside liner do mean with a Ratchet, no,they have the ear flaps and 2 cross straps

"Is this helmet in stock in white?"

George our computer system is telling us we ALL of the colors in stock except the RED that one we don't have, so the short answer is yes.

"Can this Leather helmet be updated/modified to meet current duty standards for active service?"

Sorry that would not be possible, there would be no way you could have a skull cap installed.

"What is inside the helmet as far as suspension systems, earflaps, ratcheters, chinstraps and liners?"

Tim the inside of the helmet is the same as the older N5A helmets, it has earflaps, no ratchet, no liner, no chinstrap,
