AWESOME BOOTS

by

These boots are Great, I purchased all of our Firefighters a pair because they can be worn as station boots and you don't have to change if we get a grass or brush fire plus they are EMS rated also. Very Comfortable right out of the box. So far they are holding up well, they are actually pretty easy to clean after a wildland call, and protect your feet very well. These are one of the Best ob the market if your looking for an all purpose Duty/Wildland/EMS Boot.

Awesome boot

by

Great boots, I have a few pairs of Haix now and I love them all!

good boots

by

My favorite part of these boots are how easy they are to get on and off. You can pretty much jump right in them and zip them up, and they give good ankle support. A little stiff at first but should be good after you break them in a bit. Comfortable enough to wear all day. The upper tongue area behind the zipper is a little stiff and could be irritating against your shin if your socks weren't long enough , so make sure you wear them with some thick, long socks. But other than that small con, i like them.

Best station duty boot made.

by

Switched to Haix last year. Bought boots at FDIC and havent looked back. Most comfortable duty boots I have ever wore. Lightweight, Reflects hot sun, very durable. I recommend very highly. Little expensive, but well worth the price difference.

Best dual certified in the market

by

This is by far the most comfortable boot for wildland firefighting I've ever owned. I've tried White's, Hathorn's, Red Wings and these shoes not only are NFPA compliant but are extremely comfortable and durable compare these other boots. The boot feels like tennis shoe. This boots are 2 pounds lighter than Whites.

Very comfortable boot!

by

Overall, this seems to be a really nice boot. I've only had them for a couple of weeks, but they seem rather comfortable and appear to provide very good support. They are pretty light-weight, however they are bulky, so if you're looking for a streamlined, form-fitting boot, this isn't the one for you. It is NFPA rated for wildland firefighting, but I imagine they would be a real hassle to clean afterwards, given all of the little nooks and crannies involved in the zipper feature. I haven't used them on a fire yet, but that's just my assumption. Sizing seems a bit smaller than with other shoes. I have a skinny foot, and wear a 12 in Red Wings. With the Haix, the 11.5 (US) regular was fine.

Worth every penny!

by

Perfect fit right out of the box. No break in period needed. I put them on and went to work. No blisters or rubs what so ever. I can not speak enough good things about these boots. Several coworkers are also interested in ordering after trying mine on.

Outstanding in their field

by

These boots were not the brand I went to buy but after I tried them I thought they were a better choice. I love the step in and zip up capability. Fit very good and required no break-in. Most days I wear them all day and don't get sore feet.

Best boots I've had

by

I was using the All Americans and they we're so bulky and heavy. My feet and back were sore at the end of the day. Salesperson suggested these so I gave them a try. Perfect fit right out of the box. Great arch support and no back pain.

Loved these boots.

by

I love these boots, I have owned them for a little over two years. I will more than likely never buy any other boots. They are convenient to put on and off, easy to clean and durable. It is nice not having to worry about my socks getting wet during overhaul or the soles of my boots melting from hot ash. I love my boots so much that after about a year and 8 months, the soles started to separate where the boot curls when kneeling. I continued to wear the boots almost every day and never sent them to get redone. I should of done it because now the leather is starting to get torn up and more than likely not able to be fixed. My boots are literally falling apart off my feet because I wear them so much and do not want to buy a different type of boot.

Poor workmanship

by

I bought one pair and I have had to send it back in 8 months under warranty company replaced them with a new pair and returning them again in 6months for the same problem of the sole cracking and separating

Q&A's:

"Could you provide clarification of the NFPA certification of the product? The email flyer that was sent out listed it as TRI-certified. Could you also provide more pictures of the product, specifically the sole?"

Sorry for the confusion. That was an error on the e-mail. The boot is dual-certified, 1999 and 1977.

"Do these boots run big or small? Should I get a size larger than what I usually wear or a size smaller or the normal size?"

They run slightly smaller because of the built in arch support, so order about a half size larger than normal.

"where are these boots made? are they made in the USA?"

Hi Michael. These boots are manufactured in Europe.

"When the soles wear out can we send them back to HAIX to get them fixxed? Or are we stuck having to buy another pair?"

Hi Chris, Haix will resole your boots for a cost. It's much cheaper than buying a new pair. You can find details of their resole program on their website.

"how about width does this also run smaller ?"

The medium is = to a ""D"" width, W is a E width, and X-Wide is a EEE, They run tend to run about a 1/2 size smaller due to their arch support,

"How much do these boots weigh?"

These boots will weigh between 4.5 and 5 lbs.

"I am assuming this is men's sizing?"

Lisa, yes these are men's sizes, if your interested e mail us your size you need and we can get you a pair of Haix boots for a woman.

"what is the total height of boot 6""or 8""or 12"""

8"" Size boot

"How durable/long lasting are the soles? I have another brand I've been using for station use (not wildland rated, Tactical style), they are comfortable but, wear down *very quick* with a few miles of urban asphalt walking &/or a couple months of trail hiking. No doubt these have much more durable uppers,...but, before I drop $250+, want to know if they will hold up more than a ""few"" miles, .......on abrasive terrain."

Doc, i asked to answer your question, i have a pair of Haix boots; Airpower R1 when they first came out, i guess they are 10 years old now, still wear them, and had them resoled once, and a couple other things done to them, added the toe cap and had the loop on the back replaced, still going strong, very reliable boot. I'm a retired fire chief from a very active volunteer fire dept, we ran EMS, Rescue, Fire, counting EMS calls over 3,000 calls per year, I worn these boots daily then, only time I took them off was for calls that i needed bunker boots and they were Haix boots also. Hope this is of some help to you.

"How do I clean/wash the boots?"

I have 2 pair of the Haix boots and i always use soap and water, soft brush, sponge, and let them dry in the sunlight, natural no dryer or near a open flame. I also try to polish them as often as i can.

"Are the uppers on these boots leather?"

Yes, yes they are, took this from their web site; Reduces the heating effect of the upper leather by direct sunlight. Sunlight is reflected by the leather, keeping the leather and the feet cooler. Upper Material Soft and supple waterproof leather, hydrophobic, breathable.

"I wear a size 11 in 5.11 tactical boots and I wore a 9.5 wide in military boots, what size should I order for this item? Also, can I use Kiwi/Lincoln wax on these to shine them or do I have to use the Haix brand waxes on them?"

Shawn, very good question, we are passing along to customer inquiries about sizing that they are building their boots to fit you (the customer) in a athletic shoe comfort and sizing. If it were us we would go with your athletic/sneaker size to start with. you can return and exchange as long as the boots are not marked, show any kind of wear, not dirty etc. Yes on the polish, use the Kiwi, we never heard of the Lincoln wax.

"I I'm usually a 10.5 wide, do you recommend I order an 11 wide because of the built in arch support? Also, if I need to switch (assuming no damage to the boot) because of sizing problems is there a charge?"

We recommend that you order the same size as you would in a athletic shoe, boot manufactures are striving to make their boots more comfortable for the wearer, thus they are building them like an athletic shoe. About exchanging the boot for a different size should be no problem as long as there is nothing that shows they have been worn.

"If i generally wear an 8 1/2 in women's what size should order?"

Use this part number H605114-085M or H605114-085W depending on your width. This a Ladies boot.

"I need a ""black leather boot that can be polished"" for my school I'm going to for fire certs. Can this boot be polished? Also, I live in Hawaii, so will this boot breath well in warm weather or will I just have boots full of sweat?"

Shane yes this boot can be polished, if you are looking for a US Army basic training spit shine, you won't get that on the toe of this boot. There are a lot of boots on the market that will meet that spec, and there are others that the toe will have a cap over it to give it more protection for crawling down a hallway, but they can still be polished, Haix even offers a polish for their boots P/N HB900060

"Do these boots meet certifications for wildland and auto extrication?"

These boots have the following certifications: NFPA 1977-2011, NFPA 1999-2013, ASTM F 2413-2011, CAN/CSA Z195-2009. They are certified for Wildland and EMS Operations.

"Hello, I currently wear the Globe Station boot, non-structural. I am looking around for other options. In the Globe I wear a 13 XW. Are your sizing comparable to theirs? Also is your toe protection comparable to theirs, ie composite."

It's a carbon protective toe cap with an exterior rubber toe cap. We suggest starting with the size you currently wear. If they do not fit the boots can be exchanged as long as they were not worn and free of wear or tear. Please call Customer Service at 800-852-6088 for our exchange process.

"Does this give the smell of burning rubber if I step on fire? Same for stomping out small fires, will it burn away the bottom?"

These are certified for wildland firefighting. The boots should not give off the smell of burning rubber.
