Ratings & Reviews
Light and Bright
This is a light weight LED flashlight. The flood light is a nice feature that shines out of the side of the flashlight. It allows you to rest the flashlight on its end and use it as a work light. The actual light is extremely bright with a great pin-point area of light. The only down side is that there is a safety screw on the light end of the flashlight that requires an allen key. No key is provided and the screw is extremely small. I just got it, so I cannot speak to the durability, so far.
One Year Later
After a year of use, all of the labeling listing it intrinsically safe is gone, the safety screw that holds the light cover from backing out is gone, and the off and on switch is sticking. Trying to change the battery in the field is impossible unless you take the safety screw out or carry a little allen wrench with you all of the time. Overall, the battery life is good and the price you can't beat. Also, the flood light has been nice feature and has come in handy.
The nightstick allows the user to see all open areas in processing units, boilers, and other pieces of equipment used in our refinery.
great hand light
I have had this flashlight for three years and love it. It has yet to fail me. I have used it on almost every fire scene and plenty of EMS scenes. After three years it is still on the original batteries. The only reason it gets four star is because the area around the screw cracked after two years but the cap still seals.
Awesome flashlight, cheap shipping dept
Awesome bright durable flashlight
The best things come in small presentati
This is awesome. Dont judge it by it size.
This light is awesome!
Every home should have one. Best gift for students, homeowners, elderly etc....
"Is there a helmet bracket designed for this flashlight?"
After looking at the light and looking for a bracket in our show room, I think you should be able to use a part number BJ002 made by Black Jack and we have in stock, if that won't work for you I would use a Streamlight rubber strap which we also stock and sell.
"how do you replaced the battery ?"
There is a set screw near the light head that you need a allen wrench to remove, this is a very small set screw and not easily done in the field, but it can be done. thats how you change the battery
"I noticed the pelican flash light listed was resistant to extreme temps. If I chose the this nightstick xpp-5422 light instead I would need a universal helmet mount & was wondering if it was resistant to extreme temps such as for fire fighting use."
Sam, none of these lights are tested the way a helmet is tested. There are no NFPA standards that they need to meet a light mounted on your helmet is considered an add on or an after market item, same as a decal you add to your helmet.
"Is this light rechargeable, and if not what do you do when the battery dies?"
Requires 3 AA batteries (not included), all this info is on our web page, you will need a allen wrench to replace the batteries.
"How easy/ difficult is this light to turn on or off with structural firefighting gloves on? Buttons look very small making this hard to do"
We have been selling this light for several years now and no one has had any negative to say about turning light on or off with the gloved hand. We don't think this will be a problem.
