Ratings & Reviews
Rules the ocean!
I use the helmet while scuba diving. With students it allows me to demonstrate the effective use of protective equipment. With dive customers, it allows me an extra layer of protection and greatly increases my visibility above, and below the surface of the water. The only issue is the strap. It slides on my hood and requires repeated adjustment. I did not have this problem with my original helmet.

"Before I buy, I would like to see the difference between the WR5 ratchet versus the W-AFR314. Also, I do not need to wear chin strap. Can the WR5 be worn without the chin strap or only the W-AFR314"
Hi, both of these helmets come with a 3 point quick release, chin strap, the difference being that the AFR314 helmet is a Nomex strap, it's also NFPA 1951 Tech rescue approved. The WR5 has a polyester quick release 3 point chin strap, and is not NFPA certified. As far as needing to wear your chin strap that will be your call, it's not up to Us here to make that choice for you either way you decide, it's in your hands.
