Quality escape rope

by

I used this as part of a personal escape system

Recommended!

First, I hope to never need to use this. But as it sits in my gear waiting to be deployed I can say that it's lightweight, highly visible, fits in my bunker pants pocket easily and was simple to rig into my bail out system.

Sterling PER

Great PER (personal escape rope). Not as flexible as some, but very strong and well made. Best bailout rope for the price. You may not be able to exceed 800 degrees with it and it may not be Kevlar cut-resistant fiber, but it is great for a stick it out the window and bail rope.

"Can this fire escape rope (Sterling 8mm person escape rope) be used by an 8 year old child to climb down from a second story window?"

David, this can be used for an escape rope, if the person is trained in how to deploy it. Your going to have to teach child how to secure/tie off the end, how to climb down the rope etc. The short answer is yes. I've given you a brief long answer. We sell a lot of this to firefighters to use for self rescue/escape if they should become trapped in a fire, but they have trained for this multiple times. We think you need to think this through before you give it to a 8 year old.
