Q&A's:

"At the end of the 2 year or 3 year period, what happens, is the item junked or can it be recharged and recalibrated? Rodney Beale Captain Phillip Island Fire Brigade Cowes, VIC 3922 Australia"

You will most likey get more than the 2 year or 3 year life out of it,and by then you will want to junk it. I'm basing this on the aveage use that a EMS unit gets out of them here in the states on their first in bag The price to replace the sensor and battery would be more than what you would pay for a brand new one.

"what is the difference between option 1,2 and 3? Also can this be used for fire departments also?"

Option 1 & 2 are both a 24 month warranty sensor's and option 3 carries a 36 month warranty on the sensor. You can choose 1 of 4 sensors for the 2 year models, (H2S, CO, O2, & SO2))and you have a choice of 2 different sensor's (H2S, & CO) for the 3 year model. We sell these to fire departments and the EMS companies, most of the purchasers are a combo of fire and EMS departments where they run both ALS and BLS units out of the same fire station and the engines, trucks, and rescue's all have these on them also, along with the 4 and 5 gas meters they normaly have on board.

"Does it display the level of CO you are encountering on the screen? Or is it only the time frame?"

It should display the PPM that it is reading, and I think it will alarm when it goes over the allowable PPM. If it is supposed to alarm @ 29 ppm it will and show what it is reading also.

"Do these monitors require ""Bump Testing"" If so how often?"

As I understand Bump Testing you should do this every time you turn on your monitor, we tell everyone to turn this on and never turn it off, it will last 2 years or 3 years pending on the option you purchased. At the price of this model it is some times called a throw away model, EMS first in bags, FD bags, and PD all use these and never have to bump test them. the short answer is no bump test.

"Is this unit disposed of at the end of 3 years"

Hi Bill, short answer is yes, just toss and purchase another. We sell a lot of these to FD/EMS customers, the EMS customers turn the unit on attache to their 1st in bag they take inside homes, accidents scenes, business, etc. Some FD even purchase a couple extra units that they will leave at a home or apartment and come back the next day to pick it back up, creates a better customer service with the general public. I gave you both the short and long of it.

"What is the warranty"

Single gas detection H2S, CO - 3 year model Large confidence LCD displays peak alarm exposures encountered on demand, as well as life remaining in months, days, and hours Reliable and easy to use with no downtime No calibration, sensor replacement, battery replacement, or charging needed THIS IS CALLED A THROW AWAY, YOU WILL GET 30 TO 36 MONTHS USE OUT OF THIS; After that you replace the complete unit, FD's are using these on their EMS first in bags, Ambulances, QRS units, Medic units, PD's are giving them to their on duty officers.
