Details

The ESS Nomex Goggle Sleeve was designed for firefighters to have a way to protect their goggles from getting damaged while they were not being used. It meets NFPA 1971-2000 compliance for accessories. Available in structural and wildland. The structural sleeve features a reflexite patch in the center.

The structural sleeve has a higher Nomex content that will help keep your goggles intact during hot testing situations and in structural fires when the goggles are stowed on the helmet. It will keep your goggles clean and free of dirt and debris when not in use. When the goggles are donned they will be clean and ready for use! The wildland sleeve is a lower Nomex content and is not recommended for structural use.

Please Note: The wildland version does not have a reflexite patch.

very happy with product. thinner than I expected so when pushed to side for goggle use you do not notice that it is there. Fits goggles very snug so it stays in place. Ordered three of them for myself, brother, and cousin. Now the rest of the department are getting them.

Q&A's:

"When using helmets with the goggles attached, is it required that they be protected from exposure to heat. Is it a requirement when worn with a helmet to have a nomex sleeve for protection?"

I haven't seen anything in black or white referring to this as yet, but it does meet the NFPA standard for accessories, and the idea of using the sleeve is a no brainier to me. if it will save me money in having to replace a pair of damaged goggles down the road.
