Great officer tool

by

Use this tool every shift, initially bought the 4', but upgraded to the 6' due to the demographics and construction of our first and second due. Give your forks some grind and open up the forks wider to pop door nobs

Very versatile

As a captain this is my tool of choice off of the rig. Very versatile. The only thing I did not like out of the box was the rounded off shoulders on the fork end, but this was easily modified with a grinder. I wanted square shoulders on the fork for cases when I needed to set the fork using an ax for forcible entry. Otherwise, this tool is the perfect length for 8' ceilings and the NY hook is a fireground tool that has been perfected.

This tool is awesome

Take a grinder to the shoulders of the fork. Add some depth indicators and you are good to go!

Versatile

The Celtex grip tears easily. No biggie, I figure I'll let it wear off then add grip tape to it later.

50/50 on choice of purchase

I choose the 6 footer, i like the NY roof tip for all operations, and the forks with the added leverage. Although there are no shoulders on the forks to drive it into a jamb with an axe. I havent cut or filed some in yet, im afraid of weakening the tool so some reinforcement is needed. I do enjoy the height, and also the extra weight when pulling ceiling and overhauling. I especially like having something to put my hands against when pulling. When it was delivered i was in a hurry to open, and quickly cut the foam grip off and added my own with gaffers tape. Thats when I noticed the lack of shoulders on the forks. otherwise I would have sent it back and done more research.
