The forged 3.5 lb. Michigan pattern steel axe head features hand sharpened double bits for cutting and splitting. The axe head is coated with black enamel and the cutting edges are coated in clear lacquer to deter rust. The 36” yellow clad style handle consists of a pultruded structural fiberglass core with a tough, injection molded jacket acting as an exterior body. The handle is extremely strong, non-conductive, and non-corrosive. The axe head is joined to the handle with a strong resilient epoxy, forming a chemical and mechanical bond; the interior detail of the eye is tapered, allowing for a strong mechanical bond.
