Hard to figure

by

The website makes it VERY difficult to figure out which bracket is for which size extinguisher. Did lots of research & still ordered the wrong ones.

Easy to find right size if you have the internet.

Q&A's:

"we have a 5 lb. 4 1/2 inch cylinder, will this work for us? Please reply back."

Amerex has 3 different size HD Brackets with rubber straps, as follows; 860 will handle a 4.25"" diameter extinguisher 832 will handle a 5.00"" diameter extinguisher 864 will handle a 8.00"" diameter extinguisher all of the rubber straps have a round knot on 1 end and 3 or 4 on the other end, so you can adjust the straps as needed.

"will this 864 bracket work with the kidd 10lb fire ext."

This bracket you are asking about might be over kill for a 10 Lb. ABC extinguisher, I think a 862 would work for you better, below are the 3 different brackets sizes; 860 will handle a 4.25"" diameter extinguisher 862 will handle a 5.00"" diameter extinguisher 864 will handle a 8.00"" diameter extinguisher all of the rubber straps have a round knot on 1 end and 3 or 4 on the other end, so you can adjust the straps as needed.

"Which of these models will work best with a 3"" diameter bottle?"

Chris, the 860 model will handle up to a 4.25"" dia. bottle, so that should work for you.

"Hi I'm looking for a couple of brackets to mount Trangia 1 liter fuel bottles vertically on my motorcycle side cases (1430 Pelican boxes) if I can avoid punching holes that would be optimal, if no other completely reliable secure options exist, that's fine I'll go with it. Your help is much appreciated, I'm leaving for a South America ADV motto tour with my 2008 Kawasaki KLR soon."

We do not know if these brackets will work for you or not, what we do know is that you will need to drill holes, to bolt these on to what ever you are planning to use.

"WHAT ARE THE LENGTHS OF THESE UNITS?"

Buck, I don't know the length of the rubber straps, but I found this info, thought maybe this could be of help to you? 860 will handle a 4.25"" diameter extinguisher 832 will handle a 5.00"" diameter extinguisher 864 will handle a 8.00"" diameter extinguisher all of the rubber straps have a round knot on 1 end and 3 or 4 on the other end, so you can adjust the straps as needed.
