Details

Pro-Tech 8’s Fusion Structural/Wildland Firefighting and Extrication Glove maximizes “gloves-on capability” through all your various fire ground tasks.

The ultimate enhancement to hand safety, the Fusion Glove breaks in extremely fast and remains soft and flexible after use. Its fire-retardant, breathable, mesh knit polymer liner provides blood borne pathogen/liquid resistance and reduces friction during donning and doffing to increase efficiency. Made of highly flexible and durable water repellant goat skin suede, the outer palm layer features distinctive stitching that promotes the most efficient grip of any NFPA compliant structural glove.

The ring and middle fingers’ palm sides are cut and sewn independently for enhanced dexterity. The unique flexible 7-layer knuckle guard system provides repetitive thermal protection and cut/puncture resistance at the vulnerable knuckle compression point. Gathered stitching around the entire wrist provides a secure fit and prevents debris from entering the glove. Certified to NFPA 1971-2013 Edition, the Fusion Glove provides the superior dexterity, grip, flexibility, comfort, and fit that Pro-Tech 8 users expect.

GLOVES - PRO-TECH 8

by

Fire CPT, retired: Currently still using power tools, grunt work, and these gloves have proven better than the old leather gloves I have used on the job for 30 years. Put them thru the test on your own, in a controlled training environment, to see how they work for you. Always try it out yourself - ""try before you pry"". You may find something else out about them.

The best I've used.

by

I bought a pair of these gloves a few months ago and have been in several fires with then. I liked them so much I bought a 2nd pair and will use the first set as my back up. They fit very well and the fingers aren't too large and bulky. I bragged about them so much at the station 3 other firefighters bought a pair of them. We highly recommend them.

These gloves where great when I first got them but 1 year later there shot the pathogen barrier came apart inside and now you can't get the glove on at all they have good dexterity for a while but they just don't hold up as long as they should in my opinion. . I don't understand why I can't get a glove that the inside don't pull ouT.

So much better than my old gloves

by

These gloves actually allow for good dexterity. I could actually tie complex knots with these gloves on. This makes them great for training and passing of skills testing as well as improved safety during fire scenes because you can feel what you are doing.

great glove for the $

I use them pretty often on calls

Best glove yet in 18 years

Use for structural fires in urban city

Good at first...

by

Initially, I was happy with these gloves. They were comfortable and had good range of motion and were relatively form fitting for good dexterity. After a fire, I decided to wash them and it all went downhill. The lining completely fell out of all the fingers and, despite repeated attempts, have yet to be able to get them back to being usable.

Gloves Shrunk

by

we have a wood fire grill and oven and I have to load in wood to live fire to keep it roaring. Also at the end of shift I have to use the gloves to move the hot metal grill and carry the parts to be cleaned. The glove leather shrunk after 2 weeks of touching the hot metal so that the XL size is now more like a small. i have to use the gloves like a hand towel now to get nay use out of my investment. i guess i could have bought a 2XL size but I did not know they would shrink from the heat. An expensive lesson for me a poor cook.

So far one of the best gloves I've owned

by

Same use as the hood I bought....already used in 6 structure fires, 4 room & contents fires, 1 dumpster, and 1 vehicle. Still look new, and no rips or tears. Great dexterity for a structure-fire glove. 100% better then the gloves my dept issues.

Good at First

by

The glove were great at first. Fit great, flexible, and lightweight. After about 2 months, one working structure fire and a couple training burns, the stitching on the top of the hand is coming out. The label reflective area also are starting to fall apart and flake off. I have washed the gloves once. The cost isn't bad, but I would recommend spending a little more for a longer lasting pair.

Good ol' pair of structural gloves

by

Nicely built, good dexterity, used in live fire training in about 600__F and held up fine and was still comfortable. Fellow academy mate also purchased a pair after we both felt the lion total care leather gloves that came with our rental package had terrible dexterity, especially when wet. They are probably just as slow or a little slower as the lion's for donning (reason for 4 star), but once you have them on they stay put and have good dexterity and tactile feel for structural gloves.

Pick up a burning log with these gloves on your hands!

by

We have a wood burning fireplace insert with a full stainless steel liner in our masonry fireplace and chimney. It is our only source of heat so we have become very proficient in building and burning fires. Every time we add more fuel, the gloves are on our hands which is necessary as the stove thermometer indicates we are burning between 500 to 700 degrees. When a log is not in a good position, the gloves allow us to pick up a burning log and move it into a better position so we can add more fuel to the fire.
